What is a Content Management System (CMS)?

CMS stands for "content management system". Many people have expressed the desire to update their own web sites after we have created them. This is a cost-effective method to allow anyone to access and update your web site from anywhere around the world.

As it is browser based, there is no need for additional software. It can work from any computer around the world as long as it has internet access. If you choose a site with a CMS we will give you a manual or videos that show you how you can update your site. If you have the time and a basic knowledge of the web and can use a program such as Microsoft Word, then you should be able to use our CMS. If you do not have time to learn some basic word processing and web publishing functions, then we suggest you hire us to maintain your site.

A CMS allows you to do the following:

  • update web pages as you would in a word document- add new pages or sections to your web site very quickly and easily
  • add pictures on your web site
  • change products/services in real time
  • give you complete control over the content in your web site
